Box Off Analysis for THUNDERBOLTS* and THE SURFER

Welp, it’s been a while since I’ve put a story behind the paywall, but considering the interest for Marvel’s first movie of the summer, I’m going to put some of my box office analysis behind the paywall this summer, but only once or twice a month, if that. If you haven’t guessed, I’m still trying to figure out how to make this Substack thing work. My actual review of Thunderbolts* will be posted separately for all subscribers, but for those interested in my box office analysis, feel free to subscribe for $5 a month. I’ll have more stuff for you soon.

I will say that the box office has to lot to live up considering how well things went in April, and this past weekend, there were four movies to make more than $20 million, which hasn’t happened since a few weeks into the #Barbenheimer phenom in August 2023. It’s not likely to happen again this weekend, because there’s only one major Marvel movie and one smaller wide release, and that’s about it. Oh, plus all of the limited releases, which I’m hoping to find time to write about but might get sidelined by other life events.
